You will major in classical ballet and modern/contemporary Dance in this professional dance program, with the opportunity to track into your preferred practice in our third semester, ballet or modern/contemporary dance.

GAPA Professional Dance Program ( Margot Fonteyn Methodology) is designed for those ready to advance their dance training. This course offers advanced, intensive training in technique, performance, and artistic expression. You'll delve deep into choreography, improvisation, solo work, and ensemble skills, honing your craft in a supportive and challenging environment.

Duration: 18 months full-time

Cost: $24,000 Aus/NZ students - Part-scholarships available to successful audition applicants.

Cost: $28,000 International students - Part-scholarships available to successful audition applicants.

Entry Requirements: Completing a Certificate IV in Dance or equivalent syllabus achieved distinction level, demonstrated through an audition or other evidence showcasing your proficiency in dance.

  • GAPA Professional Dance Program ( Margot Fonteyn Methodology) (Elite Performance) takes 12 to 18 months to complete.

    At GAPA, we focus on each individual, ensuring we have the time to develop you into the best artist you can be.

  • Applications are now open for Audition submissions for 2025/2026 entry.

    GAPA Professional Dance Program ( Margot Fonteyn Methodology) (Elite Performance) is the perfect stepping stone to a bright future in dance.

    Prospective students must submit a completed application form, a dance resume, a headshot, and a video submission.

    Deadline: Applications must be submitted by June 1, 2025,, or December 1, 2025, for 2026 entry.

    Preliminary Screening: Video Submission: Applicants must submit a video showcasing their ballet technique and performance skills. The video should include:

    Ballet barre (5-10 minutes).

    Centre work including adagio, pirouettes, petite allegro, and grand allegro (5-10 minutes).

    A solo/variation piece (1-2 minutes).

    Contemporary Dance (1-2 minutes).

    Evaluation: The GAPA Director will review the videos and invite candidates for a masterclass based on technique, artistry, and potential.

    Selected candidates will be notified via email and provided with details about the masterclass date, location, and requirements.

    Interview: Shortlisted candidates will sit a written placement exam, followed by an interview with the school directors to discuss their dance experience, goals, commitment, and program understanding. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.

    Final Evaluation:

    The panel will evaluate candidates based on technique, artistry, musicality, physical suitability, and overall potential for professional development.

    The panel will deliberate and make final decisions on acceptance into the program.

    Short-listed candidates must have an appointment with our specialist dance GP and psychologist.

    Notification of Results:

    All candidates will be notified of the results via email within two weeks of their application.

    Scholarships will be offered at the time of enrolment.

  • GAPA Professional Dance Program training International (Elite Performance) students

    Program Accreditation: The GAPA Professional Dance Program is not an accredited qualification and is not CRICOS-registered. Therefore, it cannot be used as the primary course for obtaining an Australian student visa (subclass 500).

    Visa Requirements: International students must be enrolled in a CRICOS-registered course to obtain a student visa. Suppose you are already enrolled in a CRICOS-registered course that allows you to hold a student visa, with a USI. In that case, you can apply for the GAPA Professional Dance Program as an additional supplementary program.

  • AS A GAPA student full time training level, your uniform is part of the course requirements.

    GAPA Blazer and warm-up wear (branded).

    Leotards classical ballet and contemporary dance. Practice tutu. Tights, ballet shoes, approved pointe shoes, world dance uniform, character shoes, gym wear, a branded hoodie, and runners.

    Performance tutu or jackets will be made to measure in the first trimester of the year.

    Once accepted into the program, you will be given a complete list of requirements.

  • Semester 2025 Commencement Dates: Monday 9th June

    Semester 2026 Dates: Monday 9th January.
